ONE OF THE most intriguing storylines at the Masters this week is the performance of Tiger Woods.
To summarise: he’s back.
Woods charged up the leaderboard with four birdies on the front nine but he looked to have blown any remote chance of catching runaway leader Jordan Spieth when he did this on the 13th tee:

It’s the kind of drive you might expect a nervous 28-handicapper to hit at Augusta, not a 14-time Major winner.
It went just 176 yards off the tee — about 60% of what you’d normally expect from a Woods drive. In fact, he was very fortunate that it didn’t go out of bounds.
What happened next was truly astounding. Woods played a recovery to the middle of the fairway before stitching his approach and leaving himself with a 15-footer for a most unlikely birdie.
And yes, he made it.
Is he back? You betcha.
You can criticise the NFL for a lot but season after season there’s surprises, swings, upsets, reversals of fortunes. You gotta love it, there’s few leagues in any sport as unpredictable at the start of each season.
Even at this stage of the season there are about ten teams that could win it!
The Colts will be a dangerous team this time next year. Star QB, $120 mil cap space, extra 2nd round draft pick (Jets) and a quickly improving young team.
@Alan Boyle: might be a danger this time round?
@Mike O Loughlin: their defence bar the Dallas shut out isnt there just yet and they need an extra wr to compliment hilton. ebron is good but cant be relied on so much. they are under great tutelage by Frank Reich and I agree this time next year with a fully healthy qb rb and #1 wr will be a definitive force. so will houston tho….and potentially the titans!
