AS EVERYBODY BECOMES a hipster, beards are getting more and more coverage in the media. When Roy Keane and Gordon D’Arcy shaved their magnificent facial hair, a large portion of sports fans went into mourning.
This story should cheer all the beard enthusiasts up though. Nottingham Forest defender Danny Fox is trying to raise money for a cystic fibrosis charity so he has dyed his beard.
Fair play to him for being willing to play a televised game with this.
“My friend, Paul Williams, passed away from cystic fibrosis and this is the colour that represents their charity,” Fox said to the Nottingham Forest website.
“I became an ambassador about 18 months ago and they wanted me to raise awareness by dying my beard. I’ve set up a JustGiving page and I’m going to do a skydive and other events to hopefully raise about £25,000.”
We have an idea of who might have given Fox a bit of inspiration too.
Abel Xavier is a hero just like Danny Fox!
I think “All Ireland winner” should suffice as the headline as opposed to the first part…
An absolute mercenary. Has been all over the country, both club and county, as long as the “expenses” are right.
