Waterford hurling league games switched to Fraher Field and Nowlan Park

The game against Kilkenny will now take place on Noreside on 19 March.

THE VENUES FOR Waterfordโ€™s home games in the Allianz Hurling League have been changed due to ongoing redevelopment works at Walsh Park.

Davy Fitzgeraldโ€™s side were scheduled to have three home matches in Division 1 Group B but will not be lining out at Walsh Park, the venue they have generally used in recent seasons.

Instead they will travel to UPMC Nowlan Park to take on Kilkenny in the last round on Sunday 19 March.

Their other ties will be held at the Fraher Field in Dungarvan as Waterford play Dublin in the league opener on Sunday 5 February and then take on Antrim on Sunday 26 February.

Waterfordโ€™s championship schedule is also set to be impacted for the round-robin Munster senior hurling championship.

Their home fixtures will see them play Limerick on 23 April and Clare on 13 May, with FBD Semple Stadium in Thurles likely to be the venue for both matches.

I saw Joshโ€™s face in the ruck where he got hurt. Didnโ€™t think it looked good from his reaction. A big loss to any team, except maybe Leinster.. Penny comes in and Connors comes onto the bench. Ridiculous strength in depth.

@John Thomas: Connors wonโ€™t be on the bench with Doris back.

@John Thomas: Yehโ€ฆ thought the same, also why did he play on?! We were well ahead and had Penny on the bench, VDF absolutely crucial for CC and URC knockout games

As long as Joy Neville isnโ€™t TMO again it should be a good spectacle.

Poor performance, RB exposed again soon as forward dominance is gone and he has no space he is nullified. Furlong also has never been the same player since the back injury few seasons ago, just toddles into contact no gain line anymore. Baird might be a difference and if Jenkins can have a few big games but still fear Toulouse and La Rochelle.

Not being pedantic but 2 RBs in squadโ€ฆspecifics will help those for whom the squad players are not household names.

@Liam Kelly: Yeap, that game did no favours at all for Balacouneโ€™s World Cup selection.

@Dave Murray: I think that Balacoune had already blown his chance on the international stage- he just doesnโ€™t seem to have the natural game awareness necessary for Irelandโ€™s system. I am guessing that โ€˜game awarenessโ€™ is a major qualification for this a Ireland team โ€“ skill set and strength etc being a given โ€“ it is clearly a common attribute of the rising stars Keenan, Doris, Hansen, Sheehan and Gibson-Park.
