Tributes pour in for writer and journalist Con Houlihan

Arguably the greatest sports writer in Irish history has passed away at the age of 86.

THE LEGENDARY SPORTS journalist and writer Con Houlihan has passed away at the age of 86.

The Kerryman was best known as a writer for The Irish Press, Evening Press and Sunday Press before the demise of the group in 1995.

Con Houlihan also wrote for the Irish Independent and Evening Herald, and published several books including More Than A Game, Princes of Pigskin: A Century of Kerry Footballers, and Windfalls.

May he rest in peace.

    As promising as Travers is,if Kelleher is unavailable would it not make more sense to drop him into the 21s and call up Kieran Westwood who has had an unreal season for Sheffield Wednesday?35 but keepers go on for years.Craddock at Aberdeen is another option.
