THERE WAS GLORY for the Cork hurlers and the Roscommon footballers yesterday as they picked up provincial titles.
The Munster final win in Thurles was a personal triumph for Cork’s Alan Cadogan as he scored 1-4 from play to claim the man-of-the-match award ahead of team-mate Patrick Horgan and Clare’s Colm Galvin.
Douglas player Cadogan pounced for Cork’s only goal of the game in the 11th minute, had 1-2 to his name by half-time and added two further points after the break as Cork withstood a late Clare rally.
In Salthill, Boyle’s Enda Smith was central to Roscommon stunning Galway with his midfield display.
Smith claimed the man-of-the-match award with team-mates Niall Kilroy and Conor Devaney both nominated as well.

Interesting bringing David power back into the fold after his all Ireland minor success a few years back
Sooner tipperary one in a row than waiting decades
@43 major trophies: Where would Galway be if Barry Kelly didnt award them 18 frees in the semi final? 10 alone in the second half to get them over the line, Tipp are looking forward to getting back to the top in 2018
If Tipp win the all Ireland next year they may just win it again in 2020.
No job for Councillor Maurice Hickey?
”Tis a slight on Kildicken.
Surprised Richard O’Brien didn’t get a call up.
