WITH THE PROVINCIAL football championship action having concluded today, the focus is starting to switch to All-Ireland series with the Super 8s set to begin in three weeksโ time.
The four title winners have been confirmed after todayโs ties with Roscommon claiming Connacht glory last Sunday, Kerry lifting the Munster crown last night, Donegal reigning in Ulster today and the Leinster decider saw Dublin triumph this afternoon.
The results mean Kerry and Donegal will advance to Group 1 of the Super 8s with Roscommon and Dublin set to partake in Group 2.
After their final defeats, Galway and Meath will hope to recover in Round 4 and if successful they will go into Group 1. Cork and Cavan lost out in provincial deciders this weekend, and they will also go into qualifier action with Group 2 beckoning if they are successful there.
The opening games of the Super 8s on the weekend of 13-14 July will see Kerry, Donegal, Dublin and Roscommon at home.
The second round on the weekend of 20-21 July will see four matches at Croke Park with Kerry against Donegal and Dublin taking on Roscommon two of those. Then the final round on the August Bank Holiday weekend will involve the provincial runner-up or the round 4 qualifier winners.
The next qualifier draw takes place tomorrow morning with Kildare, Laois, Tyrone, Clare, Westmeath, Mayo, Armagh and Offaly all involved. The four pairings will see games take place next weekend.

Out with the old, in with the new. Great chance for Conor. Pretty much guarantees him the Munster no 9 shirt too.
O gara shud be out half for his territorial kicking alone
Whereโs Leo??
Savinโ him for the Aussies
EhโฆLeo? You canโt seriously be insinuating that he should start ahead of the mighty duo from Munster?
well at the very least heโs head and shoulders above Ryan on the bench!
Ryan can play both lock and blindside flank, where as Leo is exclusively a lock. Not to prejudice Leo, his record peaks for itself, but Ryan is a rising talent and the utility element is hard to ignore for any coach.
I donโt know what a blindside flank is! Iโve just leapt onto the rugby bandwagon! Come on you boys in green come on you boys in green come on you boys come on you boys in green! Whatโs a scrum half?
Ryan can cover both back row and lock, thatโs why heโs there.
dont worry about the yanksโฆโฆโฆitaly will be after our scalp big time, they owe us one from the six nations!!!
I would expect that once the Italy game comes around both teams will be probably Won 2 lost 1 with progression hanging on the outcome of it. donโt expect it to be pretty!
Iโve heard several pundits/experts say that Ferris should play in 2nd row with O Connell against Aussies, with Jennings,Heaslip & O Brien in the back row. Think it would be a good move which would add extra dynamism to the pack.
This looks very much like the team with one or two possible exceptions (Healy for Court) and maybe some tinkering with the backrow that is going to be used for the 1st two games at least.
