GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS’ Steph Curry will be named NBA Most Valuable Player for the second consecutive year, according to reports.
The 28-year-old point guard led the Warriors to an NBA record 73-win season, establishing themselves as one of the greatest teams in NBA history.
This year, Curry also broke his own single-season NBA record for 3-pointers with 402 after recording 286 in 2014-15.
Curry is the 13th player in NBA history to win back-to-back MVP awards, joining the likes of LeBron James, Tim Duncan and Steve Nash.
This news, reported by ESPN’s Mark Stein, comes as the Warriors face the Portland Trail Blazers in the Western Conference semi-finals. Curry, who has been injured, is expected to return for Game 4 tonight.
The official announcement of the NBA MVP title is set to take place later this week.
