WE CAN’T REMEMBER the last time we’ve seen something as mad as this.
Bayer Leverkusen are away to Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga tonight and, having taken the lead through Sidney Sam on 26 minutes, won a corner midway through the second half.
German international Stefan Kiessling gets to the front post and makes decent contact with a header. It’s not quite accurate enough though and goes just outside the post.
All pretty normal so far…
Upon hitting the sidenetting, however, the ball somehow makes its way through a small hole and ends up in the back of the net. The oblivious referee awards the goal and Kiessling celebrates rather sheepishly.
Hoffenheim then missed a penalty before pulling one back with two minutes to play but that ghost goal has turned out to be the winner.
Crazy stuff.

Madness.. wouldn’t have happened in the premiership. . Goal league technology needed in all major leagues and international matches!!
Why wouldn’t it have…..I could well be wrong here, but I thought the tech in the premiership only tells you if the ball is behind the line….doesn’t matter how it got there. Does it track the flight of the ball?
It can show that the ball didnt cross the line between the two posts
Ball has to brake laser line on the sensors between the posts so it wouldn’t be classed as a goal
In the interest of fair play, should the player not have told the referee. Judging by his reaction he knew himself he had headed it wide.
Reminds me of the French game….
Reminds me of a pub league game
German league has to offer a replay! Ridiculous stuff
Why just like the Ireland France game if the ref has in there report it’s a goal his decision be right or wrong stands and can’t be changed
