IRELAND WING SIMON Zebo is set to miss the rest of the Six Nations Championship after being ruled out for up to 10 weeks with a broken bone in his right foot, team coach Declan Kidney said Sunday.
Zebo went off injured early in Ireland’s 12-6 second round Six Nations defeat by England at Dublin’s Lansdowne Road on Sunday and was replaced by utility back Keith Earls.
As well as the rest of the Championship, which finishes on March 16, Zebo is also in line to be ruled out of Munster’s European Cup quarter-final away to English champions Harlequins on April 7.
England’s victory, which followed last week’s success against Scotland, left them as the only side in this Six Nations capable of winning a Grand Slam as none of their rivals have also won both their opening two matches.
In relation to the injury, Zebo this evening tweeted: “Sports unpredictable!thats why we love it!injury is part and parcel!in gods hands now so all will be good!!thanks for the messages much love”.
Hopefully a young fella like himself will be back sooner, get well soon! Wouldn’t want this to rule him out of Lions selection!
I ma actually heartbroken for the man, he was a shoe in for the lions.. sport is cruel
Feel so bad for him, hope they keep him in mind for lions tour. Hopefully the IRFU realise that earls is a winger not a centre after today’s performance
you’ll be back zebo . quality always comes to the fore
I’m gonna miss Ryle shouting “Zzzzzzzzzzeeeeebbbbbbooooooooo” for the next few weeks.
Sad he is such a brilliant player get well soon!!!
