Rolling in it: Here are the top 10 earners in world sport

There’s no room for Rory… or Henry, or Lar.

SPORTS ILLUSTRATED TODAY unveiled its list of the world’s top-earning athletes in the past year.

There’s not a hurler in sight, but if you don’t have time to wade through the very cool list of international and US athletes on SI’s site, then we’ve compiled them into one right here for your jealous eyes to ogle.

10. Cristiano Ronaldo — €27.4 ($35.2) million.

9. Phil Mickelson — €30.7 ($39.5) million.

8. Tiger Woods — €31.74 ($40.8) million.

7. Fernando Alonso — €32.7 ($42) million.

6. Roger Federer — €33.7 ($43.3) million.

5. Kobe Bryant — €36.4 ($46.8) million.

4. Drew Brees — €37.2 ($47.8) million.

3. David Beckham — €37.6 ($48.3) million.

2. LeBron James — €43.6 ($56) million.

1. Floyd Mayweather Jnr — €70 ($90) million.

No sign of Rory McIlroy, you notice. He’s down in 14th spot with a mere $33.2 million to his name last year.

Between Rors and the top 10 are Derrick Rose ($33.4m), Manny Pacquiao ($35m) and some guy called Lionel Messi ($35.1m).

Maria Sharapova is the top earning female athlete pulling in $25.5 million last year. While fellow tenniser Li Na is perhaps a surprise name among the top 20 non-US stars with $17.3 million to her name last year.

What do you think, who doesn’t deserve the wedge they’re getting?

The fact that Gurley went 10th after tearing his ACL last season shows just how good he is. Rams have themselves an absolute steal if they get him firing on all cylinders again!

Glad Chargers got Gordon but was no need to trade up. 49ers and Texans didn’t need him. Gurley with his ACL could go either way. That kinda injury is hard to recover from especially as a RB.

Terrell Davis (Broncos ) and Ronnie Brown (Dolphins ) are the flip side of debate. Went from 1000 yds per season to never being the same again.

Look at Frank Gore as well, he had awful trouble coming out of Miami but turned into one of the NFL’s most consistent runners.
