Former League of Ireland star Richie Foran leaves role as Inverness manager

The ex-Shelbourne attacker has had a torrid time in Scotland this season.

FORMER SHELBOURNE AND Motherwell player Richie Foran is no longer manager of Inverness Caledonian Thistle, the club have confirmed.

The team were recently relegated from the Scottish Premiership despite winning three of their last four games, as they finished one point below Hamilton Academical.

Dublin-born Foran originally joined the club as a player, signing from Southend in 2009 and going on to make over 100 appearances.

After retiring, he replaced John Hughes as manager at the end of the season last year.

Speaking on the clubโ€™s official website, new chairman Willie Finlayson said: โ€œRichie has been a great servant and put 100% into his job.โ€

โ€œWe all thank him for his service and wish him and his family all the very best for the future.โ€

In reaction to the clubโ€™s relegation, Foran recently spoke of โ€œtwo or three bad apples in the dressing room,โ€ also expressing regret at not selling the individuals in question during the January transfer window.
