THE FAI CUP FINAL between Cork City and Dundalk is still to come on Sunday week but the action in the SSE Airtricity League concludes for another year this Friday night.
As the campaign draws to a close, we want to know who you believe deserves to be recognised as the top performer in the Premier Division this season.
Weโve narrowed it down to six nominees, but feel free to let us know in the comments section if you feel another player has been unfairly overlooked.
With 20 league goals, Sean Maguire fired Cork City towards their first title in 12 years before departing for Preston North End in July. Midfielders Conor McCormack and Gearoid Morrissey also delivered consistently during a memorable season for the Leesiders.
Dundalk finally released their grip on the Premier Division trophy after three years of dominance, but David McMillan was prolific in the box and Patrick McEleney appeared to be running his own goal of the season contest.
It was also a stunning year for Shamrock Rovers starlet Trevor Clarke. Whether he was deployed at left-back or on either side of midfield, the 19-year-old lit up the league.
Who was your 2017 SSE Airtricity League player of the year?
Ha,sure is he still top goal scorer?
