A THREE-MAN SHORTLIST for the PFAI Manager of the Year award has been announced.
Having overseen Cork City end their 12-year wait for the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division title and sealing the double with an FAI Cup final win, John Caulfield will be highly tipped to scoop the prize.
Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny has also be nominated. Kenny has won the award every year since its inception in 2013 and if he does it again, it will be his fifth time in a row.
Bohemians boss Keith Long is the third name on the shortlist. The Gypsies finished fifth in the table, closing their season on a high with a 3-1 win over Finn Harps at Dalymount Park.
The Premier Division Team of the Year and Player of the Year nominees have already been announced. The awards ceremony takes place in Dublin on Saturday, 18 November.

Jesus, I wonder who it’ll be?
Caulfield will win it. But will he really. So much more resourses than the Gypseys boss. Does that mean he’s a better manager than Long. Don’t think so!
@Leo McCarthy: really? Where’s your trophies?
@Leo McCarthy: Bradley at Rovers and Kenny at Dundalk have more resources than Caulfield, does that make them better managers? Don’t think so!
@billy Dorney: That’s the point that was made… Cork have more resources which obviously means they win trophys! Bohs had very little if anything worthy… Hell of an achievement!
@running man: now you’re talking
Has to be the wily fox Johnny C all day long
@billy Dorney: no actually it’s doesn’t ….. Keith Long has done a better job considering his resources than Johnny C
Billy have you seen the trophy room at Dalymount? What club do u support?
@Leo McCarthy: current troohies
@billy Dorney: trophies
@billy Dorney: if thats the case then Kenny should win it, seeing as he’s won more
If I still played, Long would be the one I’d play for. Bohs till I die
@Leo McCarthy: Yeah but players who want to win things and progress will want to play for Caulfield.Unlikely Bohs will win anything for a while, but still admire your loyalty.
