IT HAS CERTAINLY been a season of two halves for the Ottawa Fury.
The club ply their trade in the North American Soccer League – the tier below MLS – but only joined last year.
Their early form was poor and the side from the Canadian capital managed just two wins from ten games in the Spring Championship (which runs from April to June).
But ever since, they’ve been terrific.
The Fall Championship (from July to November) is longer and gives a better indication of how the campaign will go.
Right from the start, the Fury were fantastic. Fast-forward nineteen games and they’ve just been crowned Fall champions, ahea dof the storied New York Cosmos.
And two Irish players have been central to their success.
Richie Ryan, formerly of Sligo Rovers, Shamrock Rovers and Dundee United, is the Fury’s captain while Cork native Colin Falvey has been a rock at the heart of the defence.
Ottawa are now top seeds in the play-offs and will fancy their chances of claiming the 2015 NASL Championship.

Does anybody know if there’s any periscope streams for any of the games? Castlehaven did it for a recent Club Championship game. I think its a great idea. Louth vs Westmeath will probably be a good competitive game but very few will get to see it, the same with Offaly Longford last night. I think Periscope could solve this!!!
