SO HERE WE go again.
When that scheduled game in France was postponed in February because of an icy Stade de France pitch, it put a completely new complexion on Irelandโs Six Nations campaign.
Today, Declan Kidneyโs men play the third of four games scheduled for consecutive weekends. They faced France in Paris, of course, a mere six days ago, earning a 17-17 draw.
In the wake of that game, Paul OโConnell and Conor Murray were ruled out for the remainder of the tournament. Rory Best will lead the team out in the absence of the skipper while Donncha Ryan fills in alongside Donncha OโCallaghan in the second row.
Eoin Reddan is drafted in for Murray at scrum half.
So, with Ireland battered and bruised and playing for little more than pride and the world rankings points head coach Kidney alluded to in Kildare this week. Scotland may well feel an away win is on the cards in Dublin today.
But how do you think it will go? Let us know in the comments section below.
It will be an ugly match but ireland by 10 to 15 points.
hopefully itโs a win for the Irish on less we trow it away Scotland have a half desent side and will give us a game
With so many Irish injuries say it will be close, but Scotland havenโt really played at all well in last few years and have trouble scoring tries so will guess Ireland by 8 Points (+ / โ 2)
Itโll be an ugly match, but have a feeling that Scotland could take it! Would feel that theyโd be hungrier, and have played some decent rugby in the last few matches. O Connell will be a big loss too.
If we keep Hogg and Blair quiet aswell as compete at the lineouts we will stroll it.
Ireland by a brace is say. Itโll be won in the last 15 minutes. Weโre a fitter better team, Scotland will threaten but struggle to finish. If the backline clicks together they can carve their defence. Itโll be an ugly forward battle and while POC will be missed Best brings a level head to the armband role. Eire Abรบ
