'If you don’t know the answer to that question then I think you are an ostrich'

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson launched a bizarre tirade at a journalist after defeat to Chelsea.

WHO’D BE A Premier League manager?

Wednesday night, after watching his side lose to champions-elect Chelsea, Leicester boss Nigel Pearson embarked on one of the more unusual rants we’ve heard when he told a journalist “I think you are an ostrich”.

In the post-match press conference, Pearson suggested his players had received unfair criticism from the media this season. When pressed on the matter by one journalist in particular, he said:

“I think you must have been either head in the clouds or away on holiday or reporting on a different team because if you don’t know the answer to that question your question is absolutely unbelievable the fact you do not understand where I am coming from.

“If you don’t know the answer to that question then I think you are an ostrich. Your head must be in the sand.”

“Is your head in the sand? Are you flexible enough to get your head in the sand? My suspicion would be no.

“You can’t. Listen you have been here often enough and for you to ask that question, you are either being very, very silly or you are being absolutely stupid, one of the two because for you to ask that question, I am sorry son, you are daft.”

This is not the first incident the Leicester manager has been involved in this season and, in December, he was fined £10,000 for telling one of his own supporters “fuck off and die”.

Something’s not right with that Pearson fella. Seems to want to be perceived as a hard man but he’s only coming across as slightly unhinged and as a bully. That journalist should have told him to stick his thick skull up the arse of the ostrich in question.

Far too smug for someone with his cv. His team were rooted to the foot of the table for 6 months so he has to acknowledge that. Hard man routine isn’t necessary for managers.

Pearson is an obnoxious thug, can you imagine how he treats his workers, they have all the signs of happy campers, sacked soon, and no one will touch the toxic yoke, the journalist will still have a job.

Pearsons riposte is understandable. He is simply protecting his players who have been slaughtered by local and national media.Leicesters budget and their young players inexpierance do not merit this.Indeed his verbal defense of his players against a supporter is to be commended. I hope they stay up and I applaud Pearson as a man of principle.
