Clinical Nemo cruise past Adare to set up Munster finale showdown with Crokes

We have a tasty decider in a fortnight’s time.

Nemo Rangers (Cork) 2-17

Adare (Limerick) 0-4

Denis Hurley reports from Mallow

NEMO RANGERS LIVED up to their strong pre-match favouritism as they easily saw off Adare at Mallow to advance to an AIB Munster Club SFC final meeting with Dr Crokes in a fortnight.

The Cork champions, last kings of Munster in 2010-11, were two points to the good after 10 minutes when midfielder Alan O’Donovan set up Luke Connolly for a well-taken goal and, even at that early stage, the outcome had an inevitability to it.

While two Hugh Bourke frees did get Adare off the mark, Nemo struck for a second goal when Barry O’Driscoll made a great one-handed catch from Paddy Gumley’s delivery before slotting past James Hickey.

A free from O’Driscoll meant that Nemo led by 2-6 to 0-2 at half-time and the scores continued to flow in the second period. Cork captain Paul Kerrigan was very impressive along with O’Driscoll while sub Conor Horgan got on the scoresheet too.

While Nemo didn’t really look like adding a third goal in the second half, one wasn’t needed as they ran out 19-point winners.

Scorers for Nemo Rangers: Barry O’Driscoll 1-3 (0-2 frees), Paul Kerrigan 0-6 (0-1 free), Luke Connolly 1-3 (0-3 frees), Conor Horgan 0-2, Colin O’Brien, Jack Horgan 0-1 each.

Scorers for Adare: Hugh Bourke 0-2 (frees), Robbie Bourke (free), Mark Connolly 0-1 each.

Zlatan doesn’t do every game that’s his problem and makes him miles behind Messi and Ronaldo. Still one of the greatest in the game right now tho..

The amount of abuse O’Shea gets is shocking!! You don’t play over 400 games for Manchester United by being a poor player!

Zlatan is slated in Ireland from all the Eamonn Dunphy fanboys! I’ve had the privilege of seeing him up close and he is nothing short of sensational. He has incredible technique for a big man and after (the now drunk) Adriano he probably has the most powerful shot in recent football

I was in Stockholm in March for the Sweden game, and while he was generally quiet, the way he moved and the sheer strength of the man is frightening!

Joey, I wouldn’t take any heed of what Dunphys been saying over the years, people who use “sneachta” talk absolute shite. Sure didn’t he once say that Michel Platini was a “good” player but not a “great” player and that Ronaldo (Christiano) was a “one trick pony”.

1Golden Maverick, I could be wrong and your comment could be aimed at Philip above, but if its aimed at me I’d like to advise you that I am not the infamous pauljohnson, you can check back as far as you possibly can and verify this for yourself especially in threads relating to my favourite team, Man Utd.
