Mourinho can't resist dig at Arsenal and Wenger following Man United defeat

The Portuguese had already taken aim at the Frenchman in his TV interview and further questioned his adversary in an explosive press conference.

JOSE MOURINHO HAS taken aim at Arsene Wenger in his post-match press conference following Manchester Unitedโ€™s defeat to Arsenal.

The loss was Wengerโ€™s first victory over the Portuguese in the Premier League at the 13th time of asking, with Granit Xhaka and Danny Welbeck helping to secure a 2-0 win.

Mourinho aimed a subtle dig at Wenger in his post-match television interview, insisting that Gunners fans could finally go home with a smile on their face after so many years of pain when facing him.

And the United manager went one further in his post-match press conference, insisting that, in what appeared a clear dig at Wenger, he does not enjoy seeing the north Londoners fail to win big trophies.

He said: โ€œThe Arsenal fans are happy and Iโ€™m happy for them. Itโ€™s the first time I leave Highbury or the Emirates Stadium and theyโ€™re happy.

I left Highbury, they were crying, I left Emirates Stadium, they were crying. They were walking in the streets with their heads low. So finally today they sing, they wave their scarves. Itโ€™s nice for them.

โ€œItโ€™s a big club. You think I enjoy that a big club like Arsenal is not winning big trophies? Iโ€™m not enjoying that, honestly. Today I tried to win. We lost.โ€

Mourinho also expressed his opinion that is not โ€œnormalโ€ for him to have such a commanding record over the Frenchman, adding that he feels Wenger puts too much pressure on fourth officials.

He continued: โ€œI think Arsene Wenger is not a small manager, heโ€™s a big manager. So to have that record of winning so many matches, to not lose so many matches, itโ€™s something thatโ€™s not normal. Normal is win, lose, draw. I really donโ€™t care about it [the record against Wenger].

โ€œToday, no problem. We shook hands before and after the game. And during the game I didnโ€™t like what I never like, he puts too much pressure on the fourth official all the time.โ€

After watching what we had to watch last week with Dublin and Westmeath, if there are any pikes left in Wexford they should be stuck through every football that can be found. Davy is a breath of fresh air to the GAA, so he is, and it will be a while before he is put back in his box, so it will.
