MONAGHAN BOOKED THEIR place in the 2015 Ulster football final with a 10-point win over Fermanagh at Breffni Park this afternoon.
It’s the third year in succession they’ve reached the provincial decider but they didn’t have it all their own way in Cavan.
With Fermanagh putting numbers behind the ball, forcing turnovers and double-teaming Conor McManus, Malachy O’Rourke’s men looked frustrated in the first half and it was reflected in the 0-7 to 0-5 scoreline at the break.
The game’s turning point came in the 55th minute when Ryan McCluskey received a straight red card for what looked like a knee on Monaghan’s Kieran Duffy. There was just three points between the teams at that stage.
However, the game was effectively over when McManus scored the only goal of the game just seconds later and the Farney could even afford Stephen Gollogly to miss a penalty as they cruised into the final.
Monaghan were themselves reduced to 14 men when Darren Hughes picked up a second yellow card with four minutes to play but it had little impact on the game and now O’Rourke’s charges will face Donegal or Derry in the Ulster final on 19 July.

Shocker of a decision. GGG by four rounds. Feel bad for the guy. He’s been avoided throughout his career and when a huge fight comes around (which Canelo avoided several times) he gets done out of the decision by an incompetent or corrupt judge.
Crazy difference in scoring. I thought GGG won it at the time but I could see it being a draw too.
All of canelo fight have one ridiculous scorecard from a judge,trout, Lara and cotto all had judges giving canelo 9 or 10 rounds when they were clearly close fights trout fight even had open scoring which made no sense to use, Lara fight he should have lost, the draw score against mayweather even when he ko’d khan one judge had him 4-1 up at the time even though khan was clearly winning until that point. It cannot be a coincidence that every fight he has that goes to judges has atleast one giving him 8-10 rounds when the fight clearly does not reflect such scores
