CONOR McGREGOR IS enjoying the fruits of his labour but the UFC interim featherweight champion is adamant that he wonโt get complacent.
Speaking on a media conference call ahead of his featherweight title unification bout against Jose Aldo at UFC 194 a week from Saturday, McGregor pulled out a Rocky comparison for the ages when he was asked about the challenge of dealing with being in the spotlight so often.
โItโs part of the game,โ said the 27-year-old Dubliner. โTonight, Iโm heading to do the Jimmy Kimmel Show, then after that I head back to my gym to do some positional sparring. Itโs business as usual. This is the life Iโve created and thereโs no one better at this.
โRecently I watched Rocky 3. If you watch Rocky 3, at the start of it he has a mansion, seven cars and heโs got this robot that brings him coffee and stuff. Heโs doing all these ads and talk shows, and heโs getting sloppy and lazy. Meanwhile, Clubber Lang is in a dark alleyway, sprinting, throwing shots, visualising.
โI kind of smiled when I was watching that because Iโm like Rocky 3, in that I have the big houses, I have the cars, I have the robots bringing me coffee every morning.
โBut then, at the same time, Iโm also like Clubber Lang. Iโm training like Clubber but Iโm living like Rocky, so I think I have a perfect balance right now.โ
McGregor added: โIโm living good and Iโm training hard.โ
Meyler will be happy at Hull
Be great to see Sheff Wednesday back in the premiership a throwback to the 90s
On a plus from Irelandโs point of view, all 3 Derby players are likely to be on the plane to France, and If they are available now for the 2 friendlies it is a plus. Keogh and Hendrick are not far off the starting 11 against Sweden.
Wednesday please! I fear Hull might have too much for them though.
Anyone but hull!
