MANCHESTER UNITED STARLET James Wilson has revealed that an unlikely team-mate takes the honour of being the Red Devils’ fastest player.
The 19-year-old, who struck in United’s 3-0 FA Cup win over Cambridge United, ranks himself among the quickest players at the club – but says that no-one can keep up with defender Chris Smalling.
“We wear GPS tracking devices in training and they tell you how far you have run and how fast,” he told United’s official website.
“Obviously there are players like Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, myself and a few others but, going on stats, it is probably Chris Smalling.
“That is maybe not who you would think! But Chris has got a pretty good speed.”
Smalling has made 12 Premier League appearances for United this season, with Louis van Gaal’s men conceding 12 times in those encounters and recording just one clean sheet.
Translation. Arsenal are in London and pay more money.
