Louis van Gaal drops Dutch duo Memphis and Blind for Man United's game at Everton

Seamus Coleman, meanwhile, starts for the hosts.

THERE IS NO place for Memphis Depay or Daley Blind in Louis van Gaal’s Man United side for this afternoon’s Premier League clash at Everton – but Wayne Rooney returns from injury.

Depay and Blind were starters in Netherlands’ defeat to Czech Republic on Tuesday evening, a result which compounded a miserable qualifying campaign for the Oranje.

The Dutch finished fourth in Group A and have failed to qualify for a European Championship for the first time since 1984.

And their international struggles have seemingly cost Man United’s Dutch duo their starting berth under van Gaal.

Memphis had started all eight of Man United’s Premier League fixtures before this weekend, as did Blind who established himself at centre-back alongside Chris Smalling.

Marcos Rojo will start just his second game of the campaign after recovering from a hamstring injury which kept him out of international duty, while Ander Herrera slots into midfield.

Similarly, Rooney has shaken off the ankle complaint which sidelined him for England’s final two qualifiers and captain’s the visitors on his return to Goodison Park.

Seamus Coleman, meanwhile, starts for Everton with James McCarthy continuing in midfield. You can follow all the action in our liveblog here.

It’s re-signed not resigned. No need for Oxymorons at this level of journalism

Great move for Lyon. Hopefully he can do the same damage there like he was doing week in week out before his move to London. A club run a bit like Villa it seems when it comes to making sensible transfers over the years.
