Brendan Rodgers on why Liverpool have scored just 3 goals in 4 games

The Reds are preparing to play Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup on Wednesday.

LIVERPOOL NEED TO rediscover their creativity after scoring just three goals in their last four games, says manager Brendan Rodgers.

A 13-match unbeaten run saw the Reds reignite their Champions League qualification hopes but subsequent back-to-back defeats by Manchester United and Arsenal have put them seven points behind the top four.

Ahead of Wednesdayโ€™s FA Cup quarter-final replay at Blackburn Rovers, Rodgers refuted suggestions from the press that opposition sides have worked out how to combat his team.

โ€œNo, I donโ€™t think itโ€™s about working out,โ€ he argued. โ€œI think, if you look at it, we created possibilities in the game [against Arsenal] early on. We didnโ€™t start well and it doesnโ€™t matter what system youโ€™re playing.

โ€œThe last four games that we played โ€” with all due respect, we havenโ€™t created as much and thatโ€™s more on ourselves. Of course, you give the opponent credit but every team will go into a game to defend well and work hard against you.

โ€œProbably the Blackburn game, when we drew 0-0 and the games following that, we probably havenโ€™t created as much and thatโ€™s something we want to really reinforce is the creativity of chances and hopefully taking those chances.

โ€œItโ€™s a difficult system to play against; itโ€™s one of a number of systems that weโ€™ve played here and played very well.

โ€œItโ€™s my job to always find the solutions. Thatโ€™s what Iโ€™ve tried to do in the games when we didnโ€™t look like scoring โ€” finding a way to win.โ€

After picking up just 19 points from 72, footballโ€™s greatest lover of banter is out of a job>

Poor form by United, the guy deserved time. Yeah he made a poor signing but Ferguson signed over a dozen Fellaniโ€™s in his time.

If he has been shown the door then surely many of the under performing players must also follow, they have been truly awful this season.

Big mistake , you are so right , fergies first 3 years were shaky, and no better man to sign duds, the glaziers did the typical American thing going for the quick fix, when the players who are not fit to wear the shirt, obliged them by putting up their hands and surrendering. These are the boys who should have been cleared out and new quality replacements brought in, to play for moyse and the team . The cowardly sulks will just slip into the crowd now and wonโ€™t be seen again until they bottle it in some big game down the road for the new manager . Big chance lost .

Im a Real fan so they can all stay!

Seriously though Barca have their own share of overrated and declining players but they are still in the hunt for la liga, made one final and the QF of the champions league. United havenโ€™t come close to anything like that so i donโ€™t think its a correct comparison.

There are many under-performing players at united at present and few of them helped Moyes
