FORMER REAL MADRID and Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out a move to Liverpool – but says he intends to return to management next season.
Ancelotti had been touted as a possible replacement for Brendan Rodgers at Anfield, but frontrunner Jurgen Klopp looks likely to pen a three-year-deal with the club.
The 56-year-old, who has been out of work since his sacking from the Bernabeu at the end of the 2014-15 season, claims he is happy to take a season out of the spotlight before taking on a new role.
He told the Associated Press at the Inspiring Leaders Awards on Tuesday night: “I enjoy my time now but of course I want to come back to manage – to work – because it is my passion.
“I want to take my time to rest, but next season I am ready.”
he knows Klopp appointment is imminent so that’s why he’s ruled himself out

Yeah neenee, go to a Man U thread where they never show up…. This is about Liverpool, this place is for Man U fans.
The irony
At least give the webster definition. He is lost.
Bad news for Liverpool. Alan Pardew it is so.
This time next year united fans will be wishing for the likes of Pardew.
Hummels, Lewondowski, Reus, Gotze 4 players that Klopp had at his disposal at one time or another in Dortmund. Unless he can get players like that to Liverpool he will not be successful. He needs them in January because the Liverpool squad at the minute is mid table at best.
He brought those players through, nurtured them, trained them and made them what they are. He didn’t “have them at his disposal” in Dortmund either. Dortmund were a nothing team in Germany before he arrived. You never know what he could do with the likes of Coutinho, Ibe, Firmino, Benteke and Sturridge
A nothing team that won the Champions League in 96/97. Yeah Dortmund had no history at all before klopp arrived.
He will be giving time and wont be looking at rush buys in january, he has the bones of a decent team so lets see how he goes. It gives everybody a bit of hope, not getting carried away though like some people you see on twitter, avoid at all costs. It is exciting and looking forward to having him at Anfield.
Considering he bought Ledwandowski and Hummel’s for 4m each he did well, competed with Munich on a fraction of the budget (which is exactly what he will have to do in Liverpool)….. I think Liverpool have decent players to mount a challenge on the top 4 which looks to be as wide open as ever…..6pts off the top and if he can get them on a run, it could be an interesting year….. as a villa fan I won’t much be looking at that half of the table I fear :-(
Paul lambert won a champions league with them few years back,Dortmund have never been a nothing club
Never said they didn’t have history, but they had slipped miles off the pace and had become a footnote in the german league and less so on the european stage.
They had gone bankrupt just before Klopp took over.
