Josh van der Flier goes over. James Crombie/INPHO

Should Josh van der Flier's game-clinching try have been awarded or not?

It was a contentious decision.

LEINSTER MADE IT six straight Pro12 victories with a 13-0 win over Connacht at the RDS this evening.

Leo Cullenโ€™s side were fully deserving of the win as they leapfrog Connacht into second in the standings โ€“ but should their try have been awarded?

After Dave Kearney came off his wing to pierce through the Connacht defence, Leinster managed to recycle the ball and build a number of phases.

The western province had found themselves on the backfoot for the majority of the contest but defended resolutely until they were eventually broken down by Josh van der Flier.

The flanker powered his way over from a couple of metres out and after consulting with the TMO, referee George Clancy awarded the try. From there, Leinster took complete control before seeing out the win.

But the game-clinching score was contentious, to say the least. Clancy slipped on the greasy surface in the build-up and couldnโ€™t have been in the best position to determine whether van der Flier grounded the ball.

Nonetheless, he asked the TMO โ€˜is there any reason I cannot award the try?โ€™ and although replays proved inconclusive, Marshall Kilgore saw no reason to chalk it off.

What do you think? Should it have counted or not?

Living as I do approx 3 miles from SAMs ancestral home I much prefer for the cup named after him to be temporarily resident in Dublin rather than Kerry. Well done the Dubs.

Bless the Dubs, O Lord we pray, keep them on their winning way. Bless the colours, worn with pride, from Ballybough to Stepaside. Bless the banners and the flags, not to mention all the gags. Bless Gilroy too, the uncrowned king, let his name around Croke Park sing. Bless Bernard Brogan in the square, kicking points from everywhere. Bless Cluxton too, that agile ace, who guards his goal with style and grace. Bless the man with all the go, the dashing, dauntless, Cullen yoo. Bless the fans, that faithful throng, keep their voices loud and strong. Bless next All-Ireland final day, be sure the Dubs will rule OK

Kerry will win Iโ€™d say, Dublin will be fair disappointed to come away with nothing, not even the minor!

As much as Iโ€™d love a Dublin win, I think Kerry will be too clinical towards the end. Conditions have opened it up a bit though.
