League of Ireland veteran Killian Brennan will play for his hometown club in 2017

Drogheda United have today announced the signing of the 2013 PFAI Players’ Player of the Year.

DROGHEDA UNITED HAVE announced the addition of Killian Brennan to their squad for their first season back in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.

Brennan will join his brothers Gavin and Sean at United Park for the 2017 campaign in the top flight, after Drogs bounced straight back up following a year in the First Division.

A versatile midfielder, Brennan has been one of the most decorated League of Ireland players in the modern era. His second spell at Shamrock Rovers ended last October when he left the Tallaght outfit by mutual consent.

The 32-year-old Drogheda native was named PFAI Players’ Player of the Year at the end of the 2013 season, having helped St Patrick’s Athletic to win their first Premier Division title in 14 years.

Following on from his 2008 and ’09 success with Bohemians, it was Brennan’s third league title in total. He has also won the FAI Cup with Bohs, Pat’s and Derry City, as well as five League Cups — three with Derry and one each with Bohs and Pat’s.
