Kevin Doyle picked a good time to score his first goal since moving to the US

The former Reading and Wolves striker helped Colorado Rapids pick up a much-needed win last night.

IRELAND STRIKER KEVIN Doyle finally got off the mark in the MLS last night as the Colorado Rapids defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 at home.

Wexford native Doyle, who left Wolves to move to the States as a Designated Player in May, had featured in six matches without scoring but headed home the winner in the second half.

It was only the Rapids’ third league win of the season and they remain rooted to the bottom of the Western Conference. They have the least goals scored in either conference with 14 from 18 matches played.

Yeah the hardest games are yet to come for Tipp. A positive start to the season all the same. Limerick away next week will be a very big step up from today. It will be interesting to see how Tipp go. You’d hope that Tipp will be up for it and give Limerick a rattle for the first time in a while.
