JUVENTUS LOST 2-1 to Real Madrid in Group B of the Champions League last night and salt was rubbed in the wound by one of their own players. Chilean midfielder Arturo Vidal surged into the box and drew the trigger only to make firm contact with the ground, completely missing the ball.
Instead of owning up to the mistake and getting back into position, Vidal shamefully decided to appeal for a penalty, claiming that he had been tripped from behind. Thankfully, German ref Manuel Gräfe was having none of it and waved play on.
Real move into a commanding lead at the top of the group after their third win in three European games this season. Cristiano Ronaldo scored both goals in the victory last night, and Vidal could probably do with taking shooting lessons from the Portuguese star.
Stone wall peno.
Sure what’s the worst that could happen? Not like he’ll be punished for acting like a little cheat and given a fine or suspension, is it? Just like what’s wrong with still making ‘Monkey chants’? Sure what’s the worst that could happen? Not like you’ll be banned from your Club or your Club given a massive fine for tolerating it. Two disgusting acts of cheating and racism last night but you can be sure Uefa won’t do a thing about it!
Football is getting worse and worse in terms of on and off field behaviour and becoming increasingly harder to watch because of it!
That has to be the worst one ever ….
There’s a new one now. The I’ll stop playing cos I reckon I’ve been fouled scenario. Player stops with flailing hands, ref hesitates then blows up cos something “must’ve happened”. Football is getting more & more embarrassing by the day, look at Ronaldo last night.
At least there was contact with Ronaldo even though it was minimal but until they start to ban players for diving it won’t stop
What a clown, looking for a penalty….
This is so silly and annoying to watch but Ronaldos was way worse. Got a man sent off and next match ban. Its blatant cheating and needs to be stopped.
Illiarmendi taps his kicking foot, reaction is overplayed but would still have been well off balance. The red card should be the real talking point, complete nonsense.
He may well have been ever-so-slightly clipped so perhaps we’re being harsh here….obvs it’s still not a pen
He is off balance having being fouled
