AS THEY GET set to begin their 2017 SSE Airtricity League Premier Division campaign at home to Bray Wanderers on Friday night, St Patrickโs Athletic have announced the signing of 21-year-old striker Josh OโHanlon.
The Dubliner returns to the League of Ireland on a permanent basis, having left Longford Town in 2013 to sign a three-and-a-half-year deal with Bournemouth.
โJosh is a particularly good signing,โ St Patโs manager Liam Buckley told the clubโs official website. โHeโs been in training with us for the last few weeks and weโve seen him in a couple of the friendly games too in which heโs done really well.
โHeโs a strong boy, technically very good and will link the play well for us. Iโm looking forward to working with him.โ
After impressing for Longford during the 2013 season, OโHanlon was snapped up by Bournemouth but was unable to make a first-team breakthrough for the English club, who have since been promoted to the Premier League.
OโHanlon went on to have loan spells with Oxford City, Poole Town and Chester, as well as returning temporarily to Longford at the beginning of the 2016 League of Ireland season.
He moved to League Two club Newport County last summer and made 10 appearances for the Welsh outfit but was released in January.
โI wasnโt really sure what I was going to do when I came home from England in January. Iโve done pre-season with Patโs and am happy to finally get it done,โ OโHanlon said.
โI wanted to come back into a full-time club in Ireland. Playing part-time is something I wasnโt interested in. Having been in the UK, I needed to stay training every day and Iโm happy Liam and St Patโs have given me the chance to do that.โ
Aaaaahhhhh happy days!
5 year unbeaten runโฆ
Yes, lets list the European giants who went and failed:
Newcastle Falcons, Newport Gwent Dragons (x2), Edinburgh, Leeds Tykes (Iโm not joking, this is the real list), Cardiff Blues, Calvisano, Beneton Treviso (x2), London Wasps, Castres & London Irishโฆ
Confirmed: Everest conquered.
All three French internationals were no match for the mighty Munster. For updates, tune into the Pro D2.
How sad are you to spend your time looking up that info. Thatโs noy easily got! How far out of your way did you have to go? Get a life and get over yourself.
USAP were virtually unbeatable in that stadium before Munster won there, not just in Europe. I seem to recall something like a 35 match unbeaten run before Munster played there.
Must be a burden to have such a large chip on your shoulder.
I would say its not much of a burden as it well balanced with a chip on both shoulders. How sad to waste your time looking all that info up in the first place.
Those days are long gone.
