Jose Mourinho explains why he refused to talk to the media last week

The coach has given a cryptic explanation for his blackout of journalists.

CHELSEA MANAGER JOSE Mourinho delivered a cryptic explanation for his refusal to talk to the media before or after last weekendโ€™s game with Manchester City.

Mourinho was conspicuous by his absence from his pre and post-match press conferences for Saturdayโ€™s 1-1 draw, which came a day after striker Diego Costa was handed a three-match ban for a stamp on Liverpoolโ€™s Emre Can.

A sullen Mourinho was present at his press conference ahead of the visit to Aston Villa, and indicated that his silence around the City clash had been intended to spark a furore.

โ€œIf you want you can make a silence very noisy,โ€ Mourinho said. โ€It depends on what you [the media] want to do. You know the reason of my silence so it depends on you.โ€

Asked to reflect on the episode, Mourinho added: โ€œI donโ€™t reflect [on Costa and his refusal to talk] because maybe Iโ€™m punished to reflect.โ€

Mourinhoโ€™s men are five points clear of City at the top of the Premier League, but the Portuguese boss โ€” who confirmed that Filipe Luis is injured and Cesc Fabregas is fit for the trip to the Midlands โ€” reckons their lead should be more comfortable.

โ€œI feel the distance could be much bigger,โ€ he said. โ€If Iโ€™m going to analyse the last five, six, seven matches, we should have a bigger difference.โ€

Chelsea completed a deadline-day move for winger Juan Cuadrado earlier this week after Andre Schรผrrle returned to Germany to join Wolfsburg.

And Mourinho expressed satisfaction with Chelseaโ€™s business in the January transfer window.

โ€œItโ€™s not a panic buy, itโ€™s a reaction to Schรผrrle,โ€ Mourinho insisted. โ€Heโ€™s [Cuadrado] a player we know for a long, long time. We are happy with our business.

โ€œSchรผrrle is a player that we like very much but the business was good.โ€

Roy Kramer was interviewed last week by a journalist at a charity event he was attending . He was supporting a charity that trains guide dogs for visually impaired people . He has attended this for the past ten years , the charity has had a lot of exposure as a result . He was interviewed by a new stalk journalist who specifically brought up Saipan not keane. Iโ€™m not an apologist for Roy keane but I think itโ€™s time the media also let it go
