JOHN O’SHEA HAS had an eventful afternoon at Old Trafford today.
In addition to producing a lucky goal-saving clearance, the Sunderland defender appeared to pull back Falcao as United secured a penalty from which Wayne Rooney scored.
Bizarrely though, in what seemed to be a case of mistaken identity, the officials chose to send off fellow centre-back Wes Brown rather than O’Shea following the incident.
O’Shea was a relieved man previously as he narrowly avoided scoring for his former club during the Man United-Sunderland clash today.
A cross was drilled into the box and the Ireland defender stuck a hopeful leg out.
The ball subsequently proceeded to hit the crossbar via O’Shea’s foot, before Sunderland eventually cleared their lines.

Oisin is one of the stars of the future. Great win for Cashel. I’ve never seen this happen before.
