SUPPORTERS OF IRELAND’S national football team received huge praise for their well-behaved antics at Euro 2016 over the summer.
Videos of fans serenading the locals, chanting alongside the police, singing Our Father to a nun and changing car tyres went viral during the tournament, and Uefa even decided to present them with an award for their outstanding contribution.
In tonight’s episode of Republic of Telly (10pm, RTÉ2), reporter Charlie Bird and football pundit Richie Sadlier feature in a sketch which looks at how members of the Green Army have struggled to settle back into normality after the carnival atmosphere in France.
