RORY MCILROY HAS little confidence he can add to his FedEx Cup title by winning the European Tourโs Race to Dubai.
McIlroy won the Tour Championship and with it the $15million in prize money awarded to the FedEx Cup champion with a three-stroke victory at East Lake last month.
He is 24th in the Race to Dubai rankings with eight more events before the World Tour Championship in Dubai brings the European Tour season to a close.
McIlroy will attempt to improve his standing at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship this week.
However, the four-time major winner is not holding out much hope of being able to win the Race to Dubai for the fourth time in his career, as his schedule is unlikely to help him secure enough points.
โI wouldnโt be too confident about doing the double,โ McIlroy told Sky Sports. โIโm just not playing enough to do that.
โIโm playing here, then Iโm going to the Far East to play a PGA Tour event in Japan and then play in China [at the WGC-HSBC Champions], which is a co-sanctioned event, and then play Dubai.
Iโm probably not playing enough to win the Race to Dubai, but you never know if I win a couple and at least give myself a chance.โ
McIlroy has five top-10 finishes from his past six events across both tours and is determined to try to keep the momentum going until the end of the campaign.
โI guess itโs been hard to not view what happened a few weeks ago in Atlanta [at the Tour Championship] as like the end of the season for me,โ McIlroy added.
โIโve really needed to try to reset and try to focus on these next few weeks and play well going into the real end of the year.โ

James McCarthy must not be in his plans, strange not to mention him.
Aa long a Jose is at spurs Parrott will waste away in reserves. He needs that loan move
I know Mick can use the excuse that Troy isnโt playing week in, week out.
But he does know how to score.
Jose may not him much but with even 30 minutes in a run of Irish games could change everything.
There have been great goal scorers in the past who played at this age. Will he be another Robbie Keane? Who knows but time on the pitch will help in the Premier League and on the International stage.
@Madra: not sure where u going with not playing week in week outโฆhe is not playing at all nowโฆbench warmer at bestโฆ.no way should he be in squad for such a big gameโฆโฆ
@Madra: heโs playing against kids. Big difference to playing against seasoned pros. Keane was playing first team football at that age.
@Madra: no chance of being a keane now, after signing a contract to sit on a bench he is more likely to be an Anthony Stokes or a robbie brady at best. Heโs blown his shot now I reckon
@John fitzpatrick: your right John, but if Keane had of been at Spurs aged 17 in PL he wouldnโt have got his either, Parrott definitely should have got out, I wouldnโt sit it out anymore, should get a move to another PL team on loan or championship..
@Fino10: I donโt think working with a coach of Joseโs experience for the rest of the season would be the worst thing for Parrott. Bound to learn a thing or two.
He should be looking for a season long loan to a Championship or League One side next season though.
