5 goals and 41 points served up as 2015 Cork hurling finalists head to replay

Glen Rovers and Sarsfields finished level as Blackrock triumphed.

GLEN ROVERS AND Sarsfields have shared a county title apiece from their Cork senior hurling meetings over the last two years.

And the pairโ€™s familiarity with each other will continue as they face after finishing all square at 3-19 to 2-22 in last nightโ€™s Cork senior hurling championship Round 2A tie in Pรกirc Uรญ Rinn.

Two late converted frees by Patrick Horgan clinched a draw for Glen Rovers in extra-time. It was a point from a Horgan placed ball that had secured a draw after normal time as well when his score left the teams tied at 2-14 apiece.

Sarsfields were in front 0-10 to 1-6 at the interval in normal time with Dean Brosnan netting for Glen Rovers. Cian McCarthy and Daniel Kearney both raised green flags for Sarsfields in the second-half as did Horgan from a long-range free.

McCarthy hit another goal in extra-time for the 2014 champions but Horganโ€™s markmanship ensured another day out for the 2015 kingpins.

In the opening game at the venue, Blackrock ran out 2-17 to 1-18 victors over Duhallow.

Two goals from Michael Oโ€™Halloran โ€“ a member of the extended Cork senior panel this year โ€“ helped Blackrock to victory. They were in front 1-11 to 0-10 at the interval and 2-17 to 0-15 in the finale but conceded 1-3 without reply in the closing stages.

Donal Hannon scored the goal for a Duhallow team that included Aidan Walsh, Anthony Nash, Mark Ellis, Lorcan McLoughlin and William Egan.
