Saturday night’s game between Dublin and Mayo had its fill of controversy and drama — and it very nearly had an “own point” as well.
Yes, that’s right, Ger Cafferkey nearly kicked the ball over his own bar.
The Mayo defender found himself in a footrace with Dublin’s Cormac Costello and as he attempted to fly-kick the ball clear, he very nearly put it between the posts.
Fortunately for him it came back off the upright and dropped for goalkeeper Rob Hennelly who was able to clear up the mess.
Have you ever seen anything like that before?

And they want people to pay for this app. Some of the people that either write or copy and paste these articles haven’t a dickybirds about sport.
