OFFALY’S BRIAN GAVIN has been confirmed as the referee for the upcoming All-Ireland Hurling final between Tipperary and Kilkenny at Croke Park.
The match on September 4th will be Gavin’s first senior final but he brings with him a wealth of experience, having refereed the All-Ireland Minor final in 2004 and the Under-21 final in 2006.
He has also taken charge of three All-Ireland semi-finals and two Munster finals.
The standby referee will be Barry Kelly of Westmeath, with Johnny Ryan taking charge of the Minor final between Dublin and Galway.
Match officials:
Senior: Referee – Brian Gavin (Offaly)
Stand By Ref/Linesman – Barry Kelly (Westmeath)

Sideline Official – Alan Kelly (Galway)
Minor: Referee – Johnny Ryan (Tipperary)

Anyone else find it very strange how they have these massive superstars play half-time at a sporting event?
Jedward and The Rubber Bandits played at Croke Park on GAA match days.
Sounds pretty cool to me. Wonder is it on German tv!
