MUNSTER SAY FRANCIS Saili will be released from hospital today after an overnight stay following his worrying neck/head injury during last nightโs friendly against London Irish in Cork.
The All Blacks-capped centre sustained the blow in the 65th minute of play, leading to a delay of 15 minutes as he received treatment on the pitch before being stretchered off in a neck brace.
Saili was kept at Cork University Hospital for the night for observation purposes, according to a Munster statement this afternoon.
The 24-year-old was diagnosed with concussion, but Munster say that โan initial X-ray proved positiveโ and Saili will now return to his new home in Limerick.
Former Blues centre Saili will undergo a series of further tests with the Munster medical team in the coming days.
โWeโre extremely pleased to see Francis make a return home today,โ said Munster head coach Antony Foley. โOur priority now is to give him the care and time he needs to get right.โ
Saili himself took to Instagram to share his thanks with supporters and attempt to ease fears over the injury.
โIโm down, but Iโm never out!โ wrote Saili. โThank you everyone for the kind messages and support. Feeling a bit better this morning, photo looks worse than what it is but Iโm okay.
โWill take it easy, but canโt wait to get back into action with my Irish Munster brothers! Thank you God and medical team for keeping me safe. Much love.โ
When Eddie Howe took charge 2 years ago, he recalled his squad earlier than any other team to train during the summer, everyone chortled at the time of the work he put in to build his team. Now theyโre in the big time. Well done Eddie.

They will be 5 million in the red at end of season , compare to qpr who were 69 million in red when they got promoted !
Heโs invested ยฃ10m so far, which is quite a lot for a Championship club. Heโs not just spending money on players though, a lot of it has gone to upgrading training facilities etc.
Bournemouth FC vs Manchester United in the Premier League, that wouldโve been unheard of a few years back, ridiculous stuff to go that far in 7 years!
