Cork and Dundalk avoid each other in FAI Cup quarter final draw

Two all-Premier Division ties to look forward to.

CORK CITY’S REWARD for Friday night’s hammering of champions St Pat’s is an away trip to last season’s beaten finalists Derry City.

The pair face off in one of two all-Premier Division ties in the last eight of the competition; the other sees league leaders Dundalk hosting Sligo Rovers.

Dundalk booked their place in the quarters with a 4-1 win in Galway on Friday night, while Sligo’s good start under new manager Micky Adams continued as they were 4-0 winners in Cork last night.

The other quarter finals see Bohemians’ controversial conquerors Bray Wanderers host non-league Killester United, while Longford Town will host the winners of Athlone Town and Junior Cup finalists Sheriff YC.

The sides drew 2-2 in Dublin on Friday night, and will replay for a place in the quarter final tomorrow night, with a 7.45 kick-off in Athlone.

The Quarter-Finals will be played on the weekend of September 13 with the kickoff times yet to be announced.

Frank Mir is still a force to be reckoned with. The last time I saw Duffee get KO’d like that was against Mike Russow.

Mir’s a legend – that ankle lock on Lesner was one of the most sensational moments in the UFC

I saw him fight Big Nog live to. Nog was down for ages after he broke his shoulder. Mir is a beast.
