EX-LIVERPOOL STRIKER El Hadji Diouf has hit out again at Steven Gerrard โ branding the former Anfield captain an โegotistโ.
The pair have traded insults regularly over previous years, with Gerrard labelling Dioufโs behaviour as โcontemptuous and spitefulโ in relation to an incident where he spat at Celtic fans during Liverpoolโs visit to Parkhead in 2003.
This year Diouf accused Gerrard of not liking black people โ accusations branded โcompletely falseโ by the former England captainโs representatives.
In a fresh interview this week, Diouf again criticised Gerrard while branding long-time team-mate and fellow Liverpool great Jamie Carragher as a โturkeyโ.
Steven Gerrard is a great club player but an egotist,โ he told SoFoot.com.
โHe didnโt care about Liverpool winning โ all that mattered for him was getting on the scoresheet.
โI would offer him a stay in Senegal so that he sees how I am a king at home.โ
Turning to Carragher, Diouf added: โHe was the biggest turkey Iโve seen on a pitch. I found him useless.โ
Carragher has since responded via Twitter:
Aw the poor guy. This is what players work towards all year. To be dealt this blow as the finishing line is in sight must be devastating for him. Speedy recovery to you Aidan Kilcoyne.
Thought it was mcmannaman from Dublin when I took a quick glance
Wtf!!I will be careful the next time i sit down!Hope he recovers quickly though.
