Dublin's Kevin O'Brien cleared of biting allegations

It was claimed that the corner-back had bitten Donegal’s Paddy McBrearty.

DUBLIN DEFENDER KEVIN O’Brien will not face a disciplinary charge after being cleared of allegations that he bit an opponent.

It was claimed that the U21 All-Ireland winning captain had bitten Donegal’s Paddy McBrearty during the teams’ encounter in the Allianz League match in Ballybofey on Sunday April 5.

The alleged incident was not seen by the match officials but Donegal made their claims known and the Central Competitions Controls Committee (CCCC) ruled that it was a Category III offence and recommended a three-match ban.

However, Dublin contested the decision and the Naomh Mearnog player will not face a ban meaning he is now available to play against Tyrone in the Division 1 final on Sunday.

A statement released by the GAA this afternoon said:

Following a meeting of An Lár Choiste Éisteachta on 25ú Aibreán 2013, it was decided that on the basis of the evidence provided and the submissions made on behalf of both parties, the Infraction against Caoimhín Ó Briain (Áth Cliath) as alleged was not proven and that the Disciplinary Action against the Defending Party be at an end.”

How do you stop Tyrone forward Stephen O’Neill?

Nice story about a good young player coming through and Mourinho somehow makes it all about him as usual.

@Joseph Bloggs: Or the one quote selected by the media is the quote by Mourinho that addresses how the media portray him

@Johnny Bravo: Me? You must struggle with the written word Johnny, he clearly makes it about himself.

I heard something about Jose recently. Apparently he was being interviewed after a game and basically he was being a complete pr**k, walked out on the interview and all. Then, when the camera stopped rolling he walked over to the reporter and was happy as Larry, laughing and joking and apologising. It’s all a game, lads. He does it because he thinks if people are talking about Jose, they’re not talking about *insert name here* and how they’re playing shite. It’s an excellent managerial approach. It also creates the siege mentality that winning teams tend to have.

Having said all that…he’s a massive pain in the hole.
