WESTMEATH HAVE FRUSTRATED Dublin in the first-half of the Leinster SFC final in Croke Park.
Dublin take a narrow 0-7 to 0-6 lead into the break in a game that’s very much in the balance. Dublin were 100/1 favourites before throw-in.

One incident that highlighted Dublin’s frustration was this incident between James Dolan and Diarmuid Connolly.
Connolly had just fouled Dolan for a close-range free for Westmeath when this incident sparked a melee.

Connolly responded in kind after Dolan brushed his hair by dragging the Westmeath defender to the ground. Both players were yellow carded for their troubles.

Just seen the Connolly incident there, he couldn’t send him off in fairness, Diarmuid had his solicitors waiting on the sideline if he did.

Silly fron Connolly. Unnecessary but he seems to be struggling for form a little and frustration is creeping in. Yellow was correct for both players. Black card was introduced to stop cynical dragging down. Play had stopped in this instance as the free was about to be taken. He wasn’t stopping a Westmeath attack or anything so black would have been harsh too. It’s rough and tumble as a result of lads trying to get an edge.
