TYSON FURYโS PROMOTER Frank Warren hopes Deontay Wilder will accept a pay-off to waive his right to a rematch to allow for an all-British unification bout against Anthony Joshua.
Fury beat Wilder with a seventh-round TKO in Las Vegas at the weekend to raise the prospect of a highly-anticipated clash against his fellow Brit and IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO title holder.
Wilder has a rematch clause โ which the American has said he will activate โ but Warren hopes he will forgo that with the right offer.
โIt would be expensive โ but who knows? The only way you find it is if you try,โ Warren told The Daily Telegraph.
โHeโs made some stupid statements, I think. I hoped heโd take the defeat as I think he should have done โ with grace.
All that nonsense about the [ring walk] costume [weighing him down] was garbage.โ
Aside from when the fight can be staged, the other big question is the venue with Saudi Arabia, where Joshua reclaimed his belts from Andy Ruiz Jr in December, a potential if somewhat controversial option.
Once again, money will be a major factor in deciding the outcome.
โYou go back to [Muhammad] Ali fighting [George] Foreman in Zaire when a lot of money was put up, you go back to the โThrilla in Manilaโ, where money was put up. That happens in boxing,โ added Warren.
โAll I can say at our end is that if we can do it weโll do it, for obvious reasons. I think Tyson will do a job on him.โ
Joshuaโs promoter Eddie Hearn is also keen for the fight to happen and would like nothing more than for it to happen this summer, although he accepts that is entirely dependent on the Wilder situation.
โNo-one wants to see Wilder-Fury III, but we understand heโs got a rematch clause,โ Hearn told iFL TV.
โIf it has to happen it happens, but donโt string it out until October/November. Get it done in June/July.
โThe strategy is, letโs get Pulev [Joshuaโs IBF mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev] wrapped up and signed and if over the next couple of weeks thereโs a move โ where someone can wait, someone can have a few quid โ we would love nothing more than to go into Fury in June or July.โ

Fine player, only a matter of time until united ruin him
@Buzz O Sullivan: you must have missed the start of the season with him so?
@Buzz O Sullivan:
Should have known you were a Liverpool fan. Manchester United are the reason Daniel James is now playing in the Premier League, He scored 3 goals already
@Just Some Guy: as I said only a matter of timeโฆ
@Buzz O Sullivan: here mate, this is not about United or Liverpool it is about a good young player scoring a good goal. Unbelievable how small minded fools bring it back to premier league football rivalry. Giggs is taking risks and playing young lads, more power to him.
@Seagoat returns: I bleed the red of Liverpool, everything in my life revolves around it. Ynwa
@Buzz O Sullivan: What a sad life that must be.
@Buzz O Sullivan: Iโd hope that thatโs sarcasm. Canโt understand how anyone could โbleedโ any pl side in this day and age given the flippant nature of mercenary players and management.
I doubted Daniel James when he first joined Manchester United but he has proved me wrong. Keep up the good work for club and country
He has been the only positive part of Uniteds start to the season for me.
Daniel James looks like a great young player. He only seems to score quality goals. Letโs hope one or two of our young lads in the 21s become as good as James, Wilson and ampadu
Welsh out in force
Add Jadon Sancho and Declan Rice to that Utd team and theyโd suddenly be feared again
