MANCHESTER UNITED DUG out a big win against West Ham last night and booked their place in the FA Cup semi-finals.
But, they had David de Gea to thank once more.
The Spanish goalkeeper โ who has been voted the Playersโ and Fansโ Player of the Year for the last two seasons โ was called into action late on at the Boleyn Ground, as the Hammers desperately tried to claw their way back after going 2-0 down.
With 12 minutes left, Dimitri Payet whipped in a corner to the near post and Marcus Rashford lost Michail Antonio who swept the ball instinctively towards goal.
It seemed bound for the net but de Gea produced an outstanding stop to keep it out.
He threw himself low to his left and kicked out a leg to push it up and over the bar. As he got to his feet, he also gave the eye to the raw and inexperienced Rashford for allowing Antonio get on the wrong-side of him.
De Gea could do nothing to prevent the goal that West Ham did manage through James Tomkins but was forced into action afterwards โ making a double-stop from Cheikhou Kouyate and Andy Carroll.
