DANNY ROSE HAS issued an apology for comments surrounding Tottenham’s transfer policy, in which the defender criticised the side for their lack of activity this summer.
“Having had time to consider my actions, I acknowledge now that the timing and manner of what I said was ill-judged,” he said in a a statement released on Friday afternoon.
“My words were not meant to offend and for that that I would like to apologise to the chairman, the manager, my team mates and the fans.
The England international criticised his side’s transfer policy this summer in an interview earlier this week.
Tottenham have not signed any players and let eight depart — four on loan and four sold, including team-mate Kyle Walker to Manchester City.
They are the only Premier League team yet to make a signing this transfer window.
Speaking to The Sun he said: “I am not saying buy ten players, I’d love to see two or three — and not players you have to Google and say, ‘Who’s that?’ I mean well-known players.”
“I mean signings like that are what we need — that’s just my opinion.
“There are three weeks to go until the window shuts and you look at Man City and think if the window shut now they would be happy with the business they have done.”
The player wished his team-mates well ahead of their opening Premier League game against Newcastle this weekend, however the player’s own future at the club remains uncertain.

Any day that Kilkenny get beat, is automatically a good day.
@Joe Almiron: Thats so harsh hahaha
I know they’re the most successful county in hurling and all that, but the amount of incredible sporting moments Kilkenny teams and players have given us over the years has been brilliant. And I even say that as a Dublin and Tipp fan myself.
Only the league but Tipp are a transformed team in terms of fitness tactics and style compared to last year’s showing . Early doors but positive signs.
