DAN CARTER TOOK to Instagram this morning after receiving the ruling from the FFR’s (Federation Francaise de Rugby) investigation into an ‘anomaly’ shown in an anti-doping test he took in June.
“I just received the ruling from the FFR today,” wrote the 34-year-old.
“No surprises that the FFR’s ruling was that I’d done nothing wrong.
“I love this game and owe so much to rugby that I would never do anything intentionally to bring it into disrepute. I appreciate all of the support I have had, it means a lot to me and my family.
“Whilst this whole episode is disappointing and frustrating, I support the authorities who work hard to ensure our game is played fairly. I am glad that we can now put all this behind us so I can now concentrate on playing rugby!”
Carter’s original test showed traces of corticosteroids, which can be used to combat pain and inflammation.
Throughout, Carter’s club Racing 92 maintained that neither they nor their players were guilty of any wrongdoing, stating that the treatment was administered by an ‘authorised method’ and did not require a therapeutic use exemption as it was given several days before the match in question, the Top 14 final.
Today, the club underlined their anger at the way the issue arose and was reported.
“If we were hurt,” Racing conclude the lengthy statement, “this is because we are a family. Players, managers, supporters, partners, all have been negatively related to questions that legitimately arises when a family member is under the spotlight.
The players, medical staff and administrators are not shadows, we are not virtual people. They have names, including Dan Carter, Juan Imhoff, Joe Rokocoko, Laurent Travers, Laurent Labit, Jacky Lorenzetti, Sylvain Blanchard, they have families, an environment, all have a life that bears witness to them.
“Never an illegal practice was committed in their name.”

An outstanding achievement. But she needs to be coached correctly and not pushed too hard too soon. She is after all a child and needs to develop and train as a child and not as an adult. If she is pushed too hard now, she will get injured, burn out and have nowhere to step up to in the coming years, and will ultimately fall out of love with the sport.
