Could Thomas Levet's lake celebration rule him out of The Open?

Parisian took a dive into one of Le Golf National’s water features to celebrate his win at the French Open.

I’M SURE IT seemed like a good idea at the time, but it looks like Thomas Levet could come to regret the manner in which he celebrated his French Open victory yesterday.

After winning his hometown tournament by a single stroke from Thorbjorn Olesen and Mark Foster, the Parisian decided to get intimately acquainted with one of the water features which had caused his competitors at Le Golf National so much trouble over the weekend.

There is a right way and a wrong way to celebrate in a lake, however. The wrong way, as Levet discovered this morning, involves fracturing your shin and ending up in a plaster cast.

The injury has ruled the 42-year-old out of this week’s Scottish Open at Castle Stuart and Levet now faces a race against time in order to be fit for next week’s Open Championship at Sandwich.

Talk about killing the buzz …

Love to see City win it again but Dundalk have to be firm favourites today.
