More money, more problems: the cost of each Premier League XI makes for interesting reading

Man United are most certainly an overspending underachiever.

MONEY IS NO guarantee of success, particularly this season in the Premier League.

We donโ€™t need a table to tell us Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea have all underachieved this campaign but when you see a list of the most expensive starting XIs, their shortcomings are emphasised.

The number crunchers over at Sky Sports have calculated the cost of each of the top-flight teams from last weekendโ€™s set of fixtures and the data makes for interesting reading.

As you would expect, Manchester City had the most expensive starting XI for their game against Tottenham with Manuel Pellegriniโ€™s side costing ยฃ233.6 million to assemble.

Their cross-city rivals, United, arenโ€™t far behind while Chelseaโ€™s miserable title defence is highlighted when you look at their spending power.

More incredibly, however, is the unlikely tale of Leicester City โ€“ as evidenced by the fact the Foxesโ€™ team for their last outing was the 18th most costly across the league.

And huge credit too must go to Watford and Quique Sรกnchez Flores for the stellar season theyโ€™ve enjoyed with a budget a fraction of the size of the majority of sides in the division.

Poor delusional ospreys, they need to raise their game 5 levels just to avoid being killed in the collision areas, too many of them will be thinking of wealthy courtiers abroad to bother showing up against an impressive Leinster set up

Not gona be easy(it never is against The Ospreys) but confident we will get the result required to get a last 8 spot. Both teams have good strong teams named so will be a good game as always when these two teams take the field.

I never thought Iโ€™d live to see the day that Philip wrote a comment without abusing Leinster. Great to see, best of luck to all 4 provinces this weekend.
