CONOR MCGREGOR HAS launched an explosive online defence tonight after a picture of him wearing a poppy at a UFC event two years ago surfaced online.
โThe Notoriousโ posted a message to his Facebook page after some social media users began to circulate the image, alongside some inevitable criticism.
The picture was taken at UFC Manchester โ an event that was held in October 2013.
Itโs not clear why the image has suddenly began to spread now given it was taken over two years ago but, nevertheless, there has been a largely expected response by certain nationalistic groups.
On their Facebook page, the Sean Heuston 1916 Society โ which describe themselves as an affiliated member of Irish separatist movement โThe 1916 Societiesโ โ posted the following.
no, Delany wasnโt called up before when he should have been and Keane had nothing to do with the squad
Itโs such a pity that all this pantomime stuff about Keane really over shadows the memory of what a player he was. Keane at his peak was just such an incredible sight on a football field and a generation are growing up thinking all he did was shout and foul. I know the usual comments are coming but if you strip away outside the field stuff, just view him as a player, he was immense.
So Keane was very hard on him and a short time later heโs a very good defender at a much higher level.
Nothing to do with Keane at all โ only the press/media trying to stir again !!
Get Keane Out!!!! He will only damage this team further.. like other teams.. o niell can do one tooโฆ so much talent that never gets a chance.. it happens manager after manager!!
Nothing to do with Keane , Delaney called OโNeill and said he would only be available if he was really stuck as he wants to concentrate on his Palace career!
A no
Having Keane there now dont help things but Trap never gave Delaney a chance either which is a pity.
Delaneyโs second goal here is brill.

Brilliant.
*OโKeeffe
John OโShea plays regularly in the premiership as well.
being kept out by Kaboul and Coates is embarrassing
Roy Keane said in his book that he went too hard on Delaney at Ipswich as he is a fellow Cork man
