FORMER DUBLIN STAR Conal Keaney was highly critical of the Dublin set-up after they suffered a 12 point defeat to Kilkenny in the Leinster SHC last night.
Keaney, who announced his retirement from inter-county hurling in April, vented his frustrations on Twitter following the game.
Dublin trailed by a single point at the break, but Brian Cody’s men blew them away after half-time, winning the second half by 1-13 to 0-5.
Kilkenny pressed up on Conor Dooley’s puck-outs, denying him the option of going short. In the third quarter, Ger Cunningham’s side struggled to get the ball beyond midfield.
Among the absentees against the Cats were talented trio Peter Kelly, Joey Boland and Danny Sutcliffe, who were not involved for various reasons.
Ger Cunningham will attempt to pick up the troops for the qualifiers, but a difficult road lies ahead for Dublin.
