14 MONTHS AFTER rupturing his ACL and fracturing his knee playing for Dr Crokes, Colm Cooper made a return to competitive football this afternoon.
The Kerry forward replaced Bryan Sheehan for the final 10 minutes of the Allianz Football League Division One meeting with Tyrone, which ended in a draw, and came through unscathed.
It has been a long, hard road back to fitness for the 31-year-old, who had to watch last year’s All-Ireland senior football triumph from the sidelines. Below is a documentary detailing his recovery.

The man mightnd be big or full with muscles like alot of todays footballers……..but what he has though in buckets is class. Will never forget the way he used the ball in the 2013 all ireland semi which kerry eventually lost to Dublin.Im no football expert(from kilkenny)but the footpasses he can pick out even in the best defences in the country is amazing to watch.I love Doheny and young James but for me the gooch is the classiest footballer we have seen in a looong long time.Cant wait to see him in action this summer
